ABOUT ME

Hey there! I’m Maria, an actor, singer, dancer, musician, makeup enthusiast, fashionista, online business entrepreneur, amateur pastry chef, and world traveler!

Born and raised in Portland, Maine, I began dancing with my older sister at age three. When one of my dance teams began performing theatrical production numbers, I fell in love with theatre and everything that comes with it! I started voice lessons and choir in second grade which led me to competing in NATS competitions and singing in Carnegie Hall. I attended The Performing Arts Project and graduated from Coastal Carolina with a BFA in Musical Theater.

So far, the highlight of my professional career has been performing as Tracy Turnblad at Jenny Wiley Theatre and working at Maine State Music Theater!

I loved the demanding role of Tracy and stepping up to the unique challenges of an outdoor venue in the summer heat of Prestonsburg, KY, amidst power outages, mid-performance rain delays, 100 degree daytime temps, unwelcome bugs, and many sticky quick changes! The privilege of performing for live audiences made it all worth it! Tracy has always been dream role and cannot wait to get to play her again! (I had so many crazy, wonderful experiences during this contract - ask me about it sometime!) 

While in college, I studied abroad in Arezzo, Italy for the month of May in both 2018 and 2019. I love traveling and have visited my sister on cruise ships while she was performing. We sailed to Australia, Greece, Italy, France, Croatia and many other countries. I am thankful for all of the traveling I have done in my young life and hope to continue doing so when the world is in a better place. 

In my free time, I am an entrepreneur, running my own jewerly and accessories business, Maria Bolt Design Studio. My hobbies include practicing my ukulele and drums, baking, jam sessions with my family, spending time on Lake Winnipesaukee and Panther Pond. My favorite way to spend my time is performing, especially with my sister. We love to harmonize together. Since 2013, we have published fun holiday tunes and you can follow us "Bolt Sisters" during the holiday season!
